Fungus Likes Damp Warm Sinus Cavities
On an annual basis hordes of humans around the world are affected by a fungal sinus infections but there still isn’tan accepted method of ending this affliction . If you go see your health care practicioner because you are showing signs of sinusitis for an extremely long amount of time , it is likely that he will not be able to help you .
The most common method of dealing with you is to prescribe an antibiotic which may or may not give you some temporary relief, but sure as the sun will rise tomorrow , you will be feeling miserable just as quickly as it started . Many times your sinus infection will come back even stronger than before .
Then, when you go back to your doctor to tell him it did not work , he will probably give you a stronger antibiotic or give you the same one but have you take it for a longer period of time . This type of situation plays out in America and the world over and over again.
Besides antibiotics there are only a handful or less of other methods a health care professional may advise such as prescribing nasal steroids to try and reduce inflammation in the sinuses . When these methods fail, it will inevitably come down to the doctor recommending that you have a sinus surgery.
During surgery they will get inside of your sinuses and scrape or cut out any blockages and whatever else they deem necessary . Many patients that have had sinus surgery end up right where they started in the 1st place with little or no improvement from before.
There is an interesting study that was performed by the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale Arizona that may hold the answer to most of what is going on . They did a test of a bunch of chronis sinus sufferers and what they found is that in almost all cases of chronic sinusitis , there was fungus present in the sinus cavities .
Fungus in the sinuses can cause what is called allergic fungal sinusitis . Fungal sinusitis is when fungus grows in the warm and damp sinuses and causes an immune system reaction.
Antibiotics are not effective against fungus so don’t be surprised if you don’t find the cure to your chronic sinus infection by taking antibiotics.
