One of the many ways to deal with candida is immunotherapy . It implies giving up on all sugary and yeasty foods and drinks and then taking diluted doses of substances that are allergenic. These can be administered either as oral drops or as injections and they improve your body’s immune system . It is also known as Enzyme Potentiated Desensitization or EPD. This treatment was developed in the mid mid-sixties in England, London by an M.D called Len McEwen. Recently a new form of this treatment has evolved called Low Dose Allergens or LDA.

Over a maximum of two years a patient is given up to three injections every 2 months or 60 days. How the patient responds to the therapy guides the extent of treatment they will receive. Here is a guide to an EPD treatment .

The patient gets Sporanox ten days before the first injection which is an anti fungal that will fight systematic Candida as well as De-Nol which is an anti gastric ulcer agent. The latter actually makes it harder for the yeast fungi to settle in the intestinal tract’s mucus linings.

7 days later, 3 days before the first injection, the patient semi fasts, avoiding all food allergens. They also take supplements like Vitamin D3, Folic acid and Zinc which makes the EPD treatment more efficient.

Patients respond to EPD differently , some have sudden and large improvement that then wears down over time, others need higher doses given . However EPD is not a perm cure for Candida . The main focus of this treatment is on the allergic reaction and dietary aspects of Candida overgrowth and there are other factors. Also it wears off over time and if the patient has systemic Candida, parasites, or serioust gut problems or bacterial infections the EPD won’t help .

However, the best way to deal with candida is to tacke all the causing factors that trigger the overgrowth If you take care of the main cause your symptoms will go away as well as you will feel much better overall .
