Knee Swelling Peppermint and Lavender Oils

Davida

If that were me, I would hit the ER and fast! For it would be a sign,
for me now, that I had clots in my knee and leg.

I would not let them give me aspirin or anti clotting meds. They are
actually worse than the health problem. Taking vitamin E capsules for
myself only. I would take 2,000iu a day. I don't remember what the
average dose is, but I am way over average size. I would also keep the
leg elevated above the heart, as much as possible. Something else that I
do here, is to rub in creams, lotions or the like with vitamin E oils in
them or alone. I vary what I do for the rub. Even to just massaging the
knee and leg as much as possible.

One other thing to consider. Are you breathing harder or panting, with
the same amount of exercise?

Now, since I scared you, as I was, when first diagnosed with blood clots
in my leg and lungs. I'm wondering if you might have an embolism in the
knee. My cousin was just operated on for that, in his knee. Also, you
might have been stung by something. hey, ever know.

Now, I am not trying to scare you, but trying to educate you about what
might have happened. So if you have health insurance or can otherwise
get treated. You might want to hobble into the docs office or ER and get
checked out. Chances are, they will order an Ultrasound of your leg and
knee, maybe even a CT scan or MRI. Better safe than sorry. At least then
they could maybe eliminate what is wrong. I'm hoping you just twisted
the knee somehow, when you weren't aware of it. For they don't always
manifest themselves, for awhile.

Again, I only said what happened to my cousin and myself above. I am not
prescribing any course of action or meds.

Speaking of Hydrosols: Re:Making essential oils

I would LOVE heli oil but my goodness……..the cost!!!!!! For that? I want to look 20 years younger by morning and NO scars .

I want a nice oil that you can cleanse the skin with as well as feed and moisturize the skin. I'm also seeing conflicting ideas on Argan. I've seen its excellent for the skin and I have a nice agan oil similar to biosilk for the hair thats nice , but one site states 'if acne is an issue , argan is not recommended as it can clog pores'…….so is this a liquid wax?

I had hoped to do a  heli/carrot seed/ and maybe two more oils that would be light and affective. But no way can I afford heli. I did get an eo but it was not what I thought….it smelled like camphor and thats not going to be so nice for a facial oil.

Natural Massage Oils and Lotions

Massage involves manipulating the body with pressure, tension, motion or vibration to facilitate physical, functional and psychological treatment goals. The tissues targeted are skin, muscles, ligaments, tendons, joints, and connective tissue.

Massage oils and lotions provide an easy gliding lubricant over the skin and smooth workability for the massage therapist. They enhance skin contact during the body work to help the therapist release tension and unblock energies. Good quality lotions and oils provide lasting benefits for the skin, and can be used in conjunction with aromatherapy as well.

One of the most important tools for massage therapy is the massage oil or lotion. Professionals want a product that provides the light, silky touch they need for massage, as well as one that leaves the skin healthy and nourished.

Ideally, they want a product that absorbs quickly while leaving the skin soft and silky without a greasy residue. Most massage therapists experiment with several different oils on different skin types to develop a personal preference. Essential oils may be added to enhance the massage with aromatherapy, which is the holistic method of caring for your body through the use of natural fragrances. These natural oils are combined with the massage carrier oils to provide a variety of fragrances.

Aromatherapy affects the mood and health, and can promote feelings of relaxation. Aromatherapy products can relieve aches and pains, alleviate tension, and soothe the skin. Many different oils are used for massage and include grape seed oil, pecan oil, coconut oil, almond oil, and sunflower oil.

The various oils contain ingredients and vitamins that nourish the skin and promote overall health. Hypoallergenic products are available for those who need a massage lubricant without nut oils. Jojoba is an ingredient that acts as a humectant and actually creates a protective film over the skin, which makes it a terrific component of massage oil.

Many different massage products are available on the market, but not all are good for the skin. Many massage oils contain mineral oils. These provide good lubrication and have a long shelf life, but they are synthetic and can be very bad for the skin. Mineral oils create a thin film on the skin’s surface, which blocks the pores. This can be detrimental to the skin if used long term because the skin can become dependant on the oil to remain moisturized.

On the other hand, vegetable oils are nourishing to the skin and are absorbed. They help stimulate the skin to function better and increase circulation. Vegetable oils soften the skin and help it to retain its own moisture more effectively. These oils contain essential fatty acids and have a shorter shelf life than synthetic oils.

Most quality massage lotions and oils contain natural ingredients and added vitamins that nourish the skin. Just as prescription drugs can be delivered through our skin via a patch – other body care products are also absorbed by our skin. These chemicals may be absorbed into your body when you use products made with chemical preservatives. On the other hand, your body will absorb all natural ingredients when you use organic and natural products. Therefore, organic and all natural massage lubrication products are highly recommended.

Massage targets the skin, muscles, ligaments, joints, tendons, and connective tissue in both physical and psychological ways. Massage oils and lotions provide an easy glide over the skin and smooth workability for the massage therapist. Good quality lotions and oils provide lasting benefits for the skin, and can be used in conjunction with aromatherapy as well.

Massage oils can enhance the pleasure of the massage by helping the therapist release tension and unblock energies, as well as leave a creamy smooth feel to the skin.
