When a company says that the essential oils they are selling are
'therapeutic grade', what kind of real meaning can be attached to that?
They are either misinformed .. or informed but chose to fib in order to sell
more oils. It is Marketing Hype. But .. it works to sell products to the
uninformed. Likewise, Medicinal Grade works .. but it too is Marketing
Hype.
I understand that they are talking about the production process, and how
'clean' that is – but is this term defined by law or can any company make
this claim? As a newcomer, how do I determine which companies are actually
producing oils that are of this high quality?
In the U.S.A. .. in Aromatherapy there is no universal or legal meaning of
the term. Nor am I aware of any commercial distiller who would produce an
oil that was not clean and pure. There might be some manipulation of the
oil after production but rare it would be that manipulation would be done
by the distiller. There are some exceptions .. like Ylang Ylang and FCF
Bergamot .. they will be necessarily manipulated at the still.
There is NO WAY to determine exactly what is or is not therapeutic .. man
does NOT have the capability to do this .. its all about natural synergy.
We can know what a particular isolated chemical can do .. and we can
extrapolate the expected therapeutic value of that isolated chemical .. but
we will be no closer to whole truth than we can be if we try to guess the
next number to be selected in a random drawing. We can NOT extrapolate with
success because we are missing the unknown effects of the whole synergy of
the natural product.
Can an inferior quality oil be therapeutic? Can a crappy vegetable soup
be nourishing? Obviously the answer to both questions is YES. Then we get
into an area that might seem to defeat the purpose of using quality EO ..
like .. Can a placebo be therapeutic? The answer again would be .. in many
cases .. YES.
There are but a very small handful of studies regarding the therapeutic
value of a particular EO .. nobody is going to spend the money to learn this
info because you can't patent a natural product in the first place .. and
the millions of bucks and years of research needed to meet FDA requirements
are only spent by the major pharmaceutical companies to study products they
can patent.
Additionally .. if we are not medical doctors .. we should avoid the use of
terms like "therapeutic" in the second place .. to use them is to suggest
that we are peddling medicines without a license .. in fact, when we sell EO
.. we are really doing that .. but we can't claim to be doing so. ;-)
There is a need to have a "trade lingo" in all professions .. and a need for
some classifications in Aromatherapy .. so most sellers recognize two
unofficial grades to determine Quality. What we call Aromatherapy Grade and
Commercial Grade .. the former being an oil that is as it was when it exited
the still .. the latter being either a manipulated oil .. or a pure .. but
mediocre oil with a chemical profile that does not fit within the ideal
"footprint" of what fallible man has determined to be optimum for that
botanical. There are many pure mediocre oils .. this can be caused by
harvesting the plant at the wrong time .. or distilling an oil from an
aromatic that does not grow well in a particular location .. or (though
rare) improper distillation procedures. One example would be an Oregano
that was harvested too soon and has an extremely low level of Carvacrol ..
another would be distilling an oil from an aromatic grown in a Northern
climate when the aromatic prefers to live in a Southern climate.
Three of the most important factors in determining the quality of an oil are
.. Origin .. Origin .. and Origin.
I am trying to grow some vegetables this year that do NOT do well in
Tennessee .. they will certainly be pure but most likely low in quality. I
am just experimenting .. I have no hope for great success but it will be
entertaining.
When we introduce AVNP to sellers who are authorized to purchase from our
Wholesale link .. one of the paragraphs states:
QUALITY OF ESSENTIAL OILS OFFERED: We deal only in Aromatherapy
Grade Essential Oils .. they must be pure and high in quality and from an
origin that is known to produce quality aromatics of that type. There's a
difference between purity and quality … an EO can be a pure but mediocre
oil .. just as two cooks can start with pure ingredients but one makes a
soup with those pure ingredients that you can't tolerate ..
> What about the claim made to be organic? How accurate would this claim
> be, especially if the oils are obtained from plants grown in other
> countries, where the laws and definitions of organic may differ from the US?
>
If the oil is not Certified .. then its like ordering a Mail Order Bride ..
you hope you get what they advertised. If the oil is Certified .. then its
like ordering a Mail Order Bride .. you hope you get what they advertised.

A migraine can be triggered by food allergies, hormonal imbalances, stress, constant worry or chronic dehydration. Most people who suffer from migraines have been to their practitioner for help only to find that prescribed medication will not bring the relief they are looking for.
Sometimes taking medication to relieve pain can help for a limited time. However they can have an adverse effect by constricting the arteries in the brain which may cause vomiting or nausea.
Many of the over the counter products such as analgesics result in gastrointestinal problems. In other words the medication you are taking may not be entirely supporting your condition and may make you feel worse.
Hay fever is another annoying allergy that starts off with blocked up nasal passages and itchy eyes. It can be set off by the dander off a pet’s fur, house dust, perfume, cologne or cigarette smoke.
Natural remedies have been a known to have chris cardell treating hayfever in the field of natural medicine. Other allergies such as eczema, constipation and chronic fatigue on their own or combined can also be helped with herbal remedies which are known as Mother Nature’s natural medicine.
At Natural Cures we are passionate about keeping our clients up to date with details of herbal remedies and natural medicine.
Using natural medicine as a natural care instead of harmful pharmaceuticals is a way of recovering and keeping a person’s body in good health.

I mentioned last week that my Rosacea was flaring up very badly. My face was
quite inflamed, itching, hurting, and generally I was miserable. Someone
mentioned jojoba oil and I did a search. Based on what I discovered, I
decided to use the following on my face:
100% organic jojoba oil
Tea Tree oil
Lavender essential oil
I don't have exact proportions. I am mixing as I go but essentially I'm
doing a quick squeeze of jojoba, 3 drops of TTO, and 2 or 3 drops of
lavender. I anoint my face with this every morning AFTER washing with:
Aubrey facial wash with Sea Buckthorn (google searching brought up a number
of testimonials about sea buckthorn).
In less than a week (I started on Sunday), the inflammation is gone, the
itching is barely there and only occasional, it doesn't hurt, and I don't
look like I have leprosy anymore. J I sure never had such good result from
any of the prescription medications I've tried!

Aromatherapy products are a fun way to pamper yourself and get pampered by others. Aromatherapy uses what are called pure essential oils. These oils are volatile oils that come directly from the plants. This means that they are highly concentrated and often expensive, as is the case with vanilla and rose and some other essential oils. This means that they need to be diluted down. There are several choices when it comes to diluting the oils down. You can mix them into vegetable oils, lotions, and other products. Or, you can buy the aromatherapy products already made. If you do that, you save yourself a lot of time.
There are several ways you can use aromatherapy products. The first is to get a spa treatment at a place that uses all natural products. This means that if you are interested in getting the best therapeutic benefits possible, the way to do that is to purchase your spa treatment of choice only after you research the spa to make sure that they use pure essential oils. Most spas use pure oils nowadays but it is still something to check on just in case. Spa owners know that they are not only effective, but they sell.
Another thing you can do is create your own aromatherapy products. This means that you will have to buy the essential oils yourself. You can mix them into vegetable oils, lotions, and you can make your own lotions, soaps, and body balms using the essential oils to scent it. This option, however, is a lot of work. So unless you think this kind of thing is fun, it is not a good choice for you.
Several companies on the market today put pure essential oils in their products. These aromatherapy products can be expensive or inexpensive depending on the company you choose, the quality of the overall ingredients, and several other factors. What is important is that you find products that have scents that are pleasing to you. That is a big part of what aromatherapy is all about. If something is supposed to be relaxing but you dislike the smell, you will not personally find it relaxing. Take the time to test some of the scents out to find out what you like. Also keep in mind that when oils are in a blend, they often change a little so their smell will be different.

I have had a terrible skin rash that started as what looked like 4 blisters on my toe, they were sore to the touch but did not itch at all…..within 24 hrs my little toe had tiny bumps all around the blisters and went a little bit on my foot, still no itching……24hrs after that all the small bumps merged with the blister things and my toe swelled up to a massive size and has been in a lot of pain (it busted open a couple times, I think just because it could not stretch anymore, no puss or infection came out, it just tore the skin)…..over the last 2 1/2 wks the rash has gone from my foot up my leg, on my arm, covered my hand and then spread to the other side only it itches like crazy…..my feet and hands have it the worst by far although the rash that was on my left foot is now gone and there is no more rash on my legs, stomach or back…..the only rash that remains is my hands, arms and my right foot with the hurtin unit toe. The itching is almost unbearable, none of them have busted open or scratched off, I try not to scratch them though. Here are some links to some pictures of my hands and toe.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have been packing Benoite clay on my toe, taking a heavy sick time tea (although I feel great I could sure use the immunity boost I would say) and have just started out on a parasite cleanse today. I did not introduce anything new to my laundry, no bed bugs, I cant say if I got bit on the toe or not but it is a possibility. I did take some mangosteen juice for the first time a little over 3 weeks ago but stopped after 5 days of it (this was about 3 days or so before the toe blisters appeared) but that is the only new thing that has been around me.
I did have a migraine that made me feel like the flu 3 days before the blister appeared, the migraine went away on the second day of having the blisters. Other than that I have felt 100% great, no other complaints except a massive toe and a body full of little bumps that itch like mad.
Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I totally agree with the advice to see an MD in
order to rule out blood clots. But meanwhile, here
is a harmless folk remedy for sore knees that actually
works for some people. I learned it from my all-time
favorite Home Support client who was a natural heath
fanatic.
You need some rags of pure wool, and some of either
cotton or linen. Wet the cotton or linen rags with
luke-warm water. Wrap around the knee. Wrap wool
over it. Now I can't remember if she tied plastic over
that, but the key is the damp cotton and wool.
Somehow the wool wicks the swelling away. I told this
to a young woman I met in the Hot Springs here. I saw
her again a few weeks later, and she told me it had
worked!
Worth a try and harmless, like any good folk remedy.
